GOOSE FAIR MERRIMENT BEGINS...

The Goose Fair is almost upon us! The third Saturday in June just hasn’t been the same in the village over the last few years. But the big goose and the jolly man with the bell along with the Ovingham's very own Northumbrian piper, Chris Ormston and some lairds, loons and lubberdoons went about the village on Saturday to raise some merriment and sell entrance wristbands early.

GET YOUR GOOSE FAIR ENTRANCE WRISTBANDS EARLY!

To try and get some money in the kitty early for a really fab line up of entertainment and to avoid having queues to get in we are selling entrance wristbands early this year. They are available at The Village Store and The White Swan. £2 for adults. Children are free! Extra donations very welcome!

PAN HAGGERTY & CARLIN PEAS TO MAKE A RETURN

With great pleasure we will be reintroducing Pan Haggerty and Carlin peas to Ovingham Goose Fair. Local caterer, Fran Haggerty will be serving up these Northern delicacies steaming hot on the day. Can't wait!

NORTHUMBRIAN PIPERS' SOCIETY

As in days of old, the Northumbrian Pipers' Society have decided to hold their annual general meeting at Ovingham Goose Fair again so expect a lot more pipers this year. We are so excited to welcome them back in full force! https://www.northumbrianpipers.org.uk

Though Ovingham Goose Fair is organised by members of the Ovingham Reading Room committee, it belongs to everyone and depends on volunteers. If you would like to get involved in preparation, in helping us get the marquees and stages up and then down again the day before and the day after, or can help on the day, please contact us!

OVI-FUN TO PROVIDE CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES AGAIN

The Ovi-Fun group have agreed to work with us on the Goose Fair again this year so expect some great old fashioned fun activities for the kids!
